Children Screenings and Workshops

The Super 8mm film – commonly known as Super 8 – is being celebrated at Galway City Museum this Saturday 26 April with a day of vintage cartoon screenings and a free 8mm film workshop for children presented by French Super 8 film-maker, Julien Dorgere, and the Super8 Shots Film Festival.

SCREENING: Vintage Cine 8mm Films for Children
Experience for the first time or relive the magic of original celluloid projections as SUPER8 SHOTS presents a selection of cartoons and silent movies from the 1950s to the 1980s using an actual Super8 film projector. Screenings are free and run from 11am-12pm & 3pm-4pm (all ages).

>>>>> Saturday 26 April, 1pm – 2pm  WORKSHOP: Film Scratching
Free film-making workshop for children using film scratching and experimental drawings with markers on 8mm film. Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the colourful animations. The produced animations will also be exhited at the Leisureland Kidisco on Sunday. (ages 7-12)
