Roisin Dubh

Now dubbed Galway’s premier music venue, this pub features the creme de la creme of music acts in Galway, and further afield. The live acts have broad appeal ranging from country and western to cajun to Russian Gypsy music. This is definitely one of the hip and most happening places in Galway at the moment.

Established over 20 years ago the Roisin underwent a dramatic change in 2004 when it was taken over by a group of  new owners. The venue has been extended without losing its intimate atmosphere. It now boasts a covered rooftop smoking area bigger than many pubs in the City. It has also extended the scope of acts it attracts and Comedy can also regularly be seen here (see below). You can here live music 7 nights a week here. Some gigs have a cover charge and some are free. The Roisin has a good website where you can purchase tickets for upcoming gigs.

The Laughter Lounge, set in the Roisin’s every Wednesday, is one Ireland’s premier comedy clubs. It hosts an exciting number of international comedians for the delight of Galway audiences. Whose Film is It Anyway and Ardal O Hanlon will open for the Super8 Shots Film Festival on 23rd June. A guaranteed sell out event so buy your tickets now.
