The second weekend, we invite you to come with us on a trip to the Aran Island of Inis Oírr in association with Áras Éanna Arts Centre. Daytime events will commence on Saturday the 2nd with an Island lunch and opening of visual artist Gareth Kennedy’s new installation comprising of a custom built flat pack structure housing a Super 8 film.  Following this the Aran Wonder Years will showcase unique maritime-themed footage from the 60’s and 70’s from the Val Kennedy collection. The Aran Wonder Years will conclude with Lost and Found; a juxtaposition of films from the West of Ireland between the early 1960’s to the early 80’s. From the evening into the night the programme will give way to a live music and visual extravaganza. Featured artists include Dublin based musicians Katie Kim, Chequeboard, British musician Steve Stapleton and DJ Ruairi D with a cornucopia of projected Super8 visuals by Donal Dineen, Mike Smalle, Alan Crowley and French filmmaker Mr Weasel generating an evocative and captivating backdrop.
